Alien concepts and knowledge are by far the most sought after. But what would happen if aliens were to fall in love with us?

The Serpentine South Gallery has recently revealed a new exhibition showcasing the French artist, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s first major institutional solo show in the UK since TH.2058 at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall in 2008, entitled Alienarium 5.

As the French artist described it, the exhibition holds “a mutant place contributing to the invention of new technologies of consciousness. It is an anti-War of the Worlds vision”.

The artistic display is a Metapanorama, essentially a 360-degree collection of images consisting of hundreds of human and alien beings and places, hinting at the artist’s long term interest in science fiction and research into space and alien life.

Spencer Bronwen, a 28-year-old content creator, drawn into the gallery exclaimed that the exhibition is “out of this world”.

“I wasn’t sure what I should be expecting, I only thought I’d be seeing some alienesque content displayed. It was way better than I imagined,” he said.

“As soon as I walked in, the sound and the grandeur of this dome exhibition sent my eyes to every corner of the room, taking in all the details and smiling as I found familiar faces on the wall”

The gallery’s curators have said “Engaging with the exhibition as a medium, Gonzalez-Foerster’s spatial inventions and investigations probe the notion of the display, as well as how an image or scene is experienced.”

The content creator mentioned that he is also interested in science fiction and deep space, TV series such as Star Trek and The Expanse.

“Growing up, I was the nerdy kid keeping up with all things science fiction. I would beg my parents to purchase me figurines and posters, that turned out to be a heavy collection going on until this day,” he added.
